IMPRESS THE MOONLIGHT
Impressario x Moondance
[Merry Bay King x Bank on Silver] x [Dancing in the Moonlight x Foolish Entity] Bloodlines
† Impressario is the first Triple Crown winner on GHF, who was an absolutely formidable force on the track. He is a GHF Hall of Famer and grade one racehorse. With a record of 75/35/27/11 and boasting a consistency rating of over ninety-seven per cent, this stallion only placed out of the top three twice in his entire career - once as a two year old and once as a three year old. His numerous wins include four different Breeder's Cup races (including the Breeder's Cup Classic), the Dubai World Cup and all three legs of the Triple Crown among numerous other great achievements. As if this was not enough to boast about, Impressario himself was from amazing parents being a son of BHoF Merry Bay King and HoF Bank On Silver. His foals include Italian Ice (G1), Ventura (G1), Born to Impress (G1), Dare to Impress and Pandora. † Moondance is a grade one dirt horse with a number of impressive wins to her name. She was a lot less consistent that Ario, but also achieved wins in the Breeder's Cup Classic and Dubai World Cup which just goes to show the talent that she possesses. She has wins such as the Kentucky Oaks and more. Impress the Moonlight is her first foal. |
Personality
† This filly is a true show off, much like her parents, and can often be found flaunting her beauty and amazing conformation while out in the pasture. Like her mother, she seems to have show-class movement and a sure-footedness which should prevent her from being injured easily. She prefers to be out in the pasture, where she is able to move, than being penned up in her stable and can become frustrated if in a small environment for too long. Imo has a rather dignified manner to her and while she is not exactly dominant she won’t take any crap either. It is very rare to see any form of aggression or violence from her, but rather displays of beauty and elegance. If challenged, she will take it up – especially if the challenge is a race. However, she often finds herself outrunning other horses from her crop and soon grows bored of them – seeking challenge elsewhere. While she loves to run, she needs constant competition and challenge to keep her interested in interaction with others. This filly is fearless but she does not feel a huge need for human interaction and will pick and choose whom she will interact with. |

† This hugely competitive filly is at home on the track, as it provides her with the competition and challenge she thirsts for. In the pre-race parade she tends to be showy, moving with a spring in her step and her neck curved. Once they get to the track, however, this showiness dissipates and is replaced by a desire to run and to compete. Gating is an interesting game with Imo. She tends to be a little excitable and over-eager, meaning she will often approach the gates too fast and veer off at the last moment. It can take several approaches to gate her successfully, but she does not show any fear or aggression meaning that with time and training she will be very good with the gate and enter without a problem – they just need to get her over her excitability. Once in the gates, Imogen becomes much calmer and more focused. She will fidget a little while waiting for the gates to open, but does not strike out or show any signs of discomfort. Once the gates open, she breaks well and although she is not the first out of the gates usually she is not far behind. She tends to take up quite a quick pace for the first furlong of a race, enabling her to settle right behind the front runners before she will lower her pace. From time to time, she will push forwards and torment the front runners a little but generally she will stay a little back from them. |
