SPITTERFLY
Y12 Gray Thoroughbred Filly. "Spitter"
Registration Number: #1206 Bloodlines
† Spitz is a grade one champion racehorse who raced hard his entire career. He didn't win too many big races since he started off as an older horse but he did manage to win the 2008 March Wire Finish Turf and place in the Breeder's Cup Turf. He is also the sire of TW Champion Hall of Famer Frozen Motion (G1) and Spitting Image (G1). † Sweet Stalker is a GHF Hall of Famer who was grade one and won many big races such as the MHS Preakness Stakes and Belmont Stakes. She is also the dam of Sweeto Cheeto, Sweet Inferno (G2) and many young upcoming horses. |
Personality
† Spitter has the personality of her sire and the running style of her dam. She is a good mix of breeding and has surprised her riders with her talent. Spitter LOVES baths, she loves anything with water. In fact, she got her nickname Spitter because of this. Whenever we try to give her a bath, light spray down or even work her in the therapeutic pool she opens her mouth as wide as possible and tries to catch as much water in her mouth as she can. When she was young her mouth will fill with so much water that it dripped all over the place. This is why we nicknamed her "Spitter". As she grew older she was able to swallow more at once but that didn't stop her from saving a bit in her mouth just to let it drip on to her handlers. She really is a brat in that sense. Other than her obsession with water Spitter is a sweet filly that loves to play and please. She is easy to get along with and has a way of tuning into your innermost thoughts and feelings. She just has a way of looking right through you. Bonding with this filly is as easy as saying your ABCs, she truly is a lovable girl. Breeding † When deciding on who to send to Sweet Stalker in Y12 we never thought Spitz would even be a choice. However, ARS wanted to add a turf loving horse to the crop and had no mares that could produce a turfer. Until Kirsten remembered that Sweet Stalker was capable of running just as strongly over the turf, she just never did throughout her career. (Used Surface Supreme on Sweet Stalker as a broodmare.) Spitz is one of best turfing sires and had a great career himself. Eventually, we just decided to give it a try and the result was an adorable dark colored gray filly who does indeed love the turf. |

† Once you get this lovable filly on the track it is all work and no play. Spitter is usually always playing but the track is her training ground. She hates to lose and tends to overwork herself during training sessions. She stalks her competition during the race and presses them until they tire. She likes to take the lead only down in the final stretch so that she makes sure her competition knows who the winner is. She is the first foal of Sweet Stalker to run solely on the turf but that doesn't matter because this filly just dominates her competition. She also loves to run on the track after it has rained, while normal horses have slow races Spitter will run her best. Better watch out because this filly is in to win. |
