Oh Spitter
you are truly unique.
Melanie led the tall gray filly towards one of her favorite buildings. Spitter pranced at the end of her lead shank without a care in the world. Melanie smiled. The filly was going to go crazy when she realized where she was going. To be honest with herself she was quite a fan of the Spitz x Sweet Stalker filly. She was a truly unique horse and very fun to ride, plus she had great potential! Melanie couldn't wait for her first race tomorrow.
The tall building that hid the amazing high class therapeutic pool came into view. Melanie kept an eye on the juvenile filly, knowing what her first reaction was going to be. Spitter just tossed her mane in the air, obviously content this late morning. If only she knew that she would be racing in a tough maiden race tomorrow...
All of a sudden Spitterfly stopped. Oh here we go... Spitter had noticed what building they were approaching. The gray whinnied and lunged forward, straining on her lead shank and nearly dragging Melanie the rest of the way to the building. Kirsten opened the door and jumped back in surprise when she saw the young horse barreling down the drive to her.
She opened the door again and smirked at her sister. "Arms about to fall off?" Melanie grunted. "You know it" Kirsten chuckled and grabbed Spitter's halter from the other side. "Come on silly girl." Spitterfly pranced through the doors and leaned towards the pool. She just couldn't wait to get in the water. Kirsten laughed while Melanie rolled her eyes. "We need to start blind folding her". Kirsten shook her head and smiled. "Yeah right. Spitter senses water a mile away."
They barely had time to hook her up to the middle rail before Spitter took a big jump straight into the pool. "Hold her steady Mel!" The last thing they needed was for the filly to slip on the ramp and break her leg, Kirsten shivered at the thought. No, she had to be positive. No tragedies this year - it will be a good year for ARS.
Kirsten made her way to the other side of the pool while Melanie hung on to the ropes on the outside. Spitterfly was not paying any attention to the people in the room. She was so focused on splashing and swimming and dunking her face in the water with pure joy. Kirsten shook her head. It was quite the sight to see.
Melanie frowned down at the filly. "Spitter you are such a weirdo." The gray turned to face her handler. Her eyes gleamed with mischief. Before Melanie could even move the filly spit out a spray of water at Melanie's legs. Kirsten burst into loud laughter. The expression on Melanie's face had been too precious. Oh where did they manage to get such a goofy juvenile? How could someone not love Spitterfly?
