hush little baby
don't say a word.
Kirsten sighed as Blanchette warmed up. Winter was coming and it was starting to get really cold. Her hands were freezing and she would do anything to be inside the house cuddling her daughter in front of the fireplace but instead she was stuck out in the cold morning exercising high strung racehorses.
Babie snorted and tossed her head in annoyance. She was obviously upset with her rider being so tense on her back and was probably feeling the cold as well. She was usually so calm, even right before a race. She was a good racer however and has been burning up the turf track the last few months. She was rated as a G2 racehorse but only needed one more win to becoming a G1 rated racer. Kirsten sure hoped it would come soon though because it almost seemed that in the last month Blanchette has been starting to lose some of her steam.
Kirsten urged the filly to the inside of the track and let her out. They were going for a full blowout today in hopes of getting the filly on her toes on time for the Winter Cup. That would be the icing on the cake to win that race.
Blanchette started to pick up her pace around the last turn. She was really flying now. The totally white filly was almost a blur as she rounded the last turn to head for home. Kirsten ducked her head and laid almost flat across her neck to allow the wind to pass over her head and Blanchette took that as a cue to go even faster.
As they passed under the wire Kirsten stood up in her stirrups to slow down her only filly turfer. She shook her head in disbelief. Every time she started to doubt the albino filly she ended up surprising her and Kirsten could never remember why she doubted her in the first place. She had no one to time that workout but Kirsten didn't need a clock to know that this was the fastest the filly has ever ran 10 furlongs. She was ready for the final race of the Season Series on GHF.
