Small snowflakes fell on the local track softly. There was barely any wind. Kirsten Jade held the reins of the stallion whose pelt matched the beautiful cold substance. Spitz watched the snow fall unmoving. The snow did not bother him one bit. He had lived almost five years now and has seen his share of winters. To him snow is just colder rain. He likes it but gets so frustrated on how slow it falls.
Possible thoughts ran through her head as she patted his neck fondly. He was a great horse and she was glad that she decided to continue his career. This could be his year. He has been getting better with age and has plently of life experience so he does not spook easily. He was more mature then the other racers.
Instead of mounting at the mounting block she lead him onto the track and mounted from the rail. He stood still as an angel. The experienced jockey urged the white stallion into a trot to warm up. He moved with more grace then the previous years. She grinned. She planned on breezing him four furlongs this morning.
They were reaching the starting place. Kirsten stared straight ahead with a determined look in her eyes. C'mon boy! Let's do this! She released her grip and leaned forward in a racing position. He took off slowly but his speed was increasing the further they moved.
Zippitty Do Dah Zippitty Day! My Oh My! What A Wonderful Day! Kirsten shook her head to clear the silly song her daughter kept singing ever since they returned from their trip to DisneyWorld. Spitz had put in a wonderful workout and she was happy. He was ready to race. She dismounted and started to lead him around the track to cool down.
