Aaron leaned against the side of the stall thoughtfully. The dark bay colt next to him nudged him with his nose until Aaron reached up to pet him. Just like a giant dog. He chuckled. He was going to enjoy racing this big fella. It was Optimus Unstoppable, the first born son of Train Wreck. He was probably the fastest yearling they had right now. At first no one had much for expectations for the colt but the older he gets the more talent he is showing. Who would have thought?
There was no doubt that Optimus is going to be a sprinter. The colt just did not stop moving - EVER. Plus he had that quick starting speed that makes you stare. It was not what we expected from him. Now it was a whole new game plan. Optimus was going to do good for ARS. Hopefully. And I get to ride him.
Aaron grinned and Optimus huffed in his face before turning and dunking his head in his water bucket. He shook his mane and then returned to Aaron at the stall door. Aaron shook his head. What a playful toddler he was...
It had been difficult at first to work through his yearling training because of the fact that Optimus had a small attention span. He also was stubborn but hard work often pays off. Tomorrow Optimus was going to be in the annual Breeder's Cup Yearling Show at TW. It was just a prospect halter show thing but Aaron was excited. It was always nice to see where a yearling stands among his crop. Plus, ARS would get to show off their upcoming champion before he hits the track in a couple of weeks.
Aaron rubbed his hands together. Boy was he ever excited to ride this big boy. Somebody has got to replace Rousseau for him. Might as well be Optimus Unstoppable.
