stranger danger.
who are you?
Melanie stroked the soft black mane of the young colt beneath her. His black coat glistened under the early morning rising sun. The colt was majestic. He was very talented and his silence could speak volumes. He was not a horse to act up for no reason. Oh no. Uni always had a reason. His name suited him well, named after a legendary mystical beast. That was exactly what The Unicorn was - a mystical beast.
His nostrils flared as he increased his pace on the track. Kirsten stood at the rail and watched the juvenile quietly. At first she had put the colt up for sale after reclaiming him but now she is probably going to keep him. Uni had a sort of unique charisma that draws attention to him. She had entered him in a small race just to test out his capabilities on GHF two weeks ago and had been pretty impressed with his show. He showed talent and determination. She had pressed on training the Juvenile and now he would be racing again this weekend. If everything went well she would try him out again in the Breeder's Cup Juvenile Turf. That race was perhaps a little bit steep for him but with the increase in his current training he might just be a worthy competitor.
Melanie kicked Uni into his highest gear. The colt stretched out and dug into the turf. Melanie smiled. This was fun. The colt had talent, just like his sire did. Melanie sighed. It has been awhile since she thought about Muffin Man. She missed him, she was definitely due to visit him soon and maybe take him out for a little trail ride. That would be fun. Uni snorted and put on the speed. This is where his speed burst began.
Kirsten watched The Unicorn find another gear and really send the grass flinging. She clicked her stopwatch just as Uni slid under the wire. "Remarkable!" Kirsten whipped around to find a skinny man with pj looking pants standing a few feet away. "Excuse me? Who are you?" The man regarded Kirsten with condemnation. "Who am I? I am Dr. Sheldon Cooper. The most brilliant mind you will ever meet." Kirsten narrowed her eyes and put her hand on her hip. "Oh yeah? And why are you here exactly?" Not to mention how the heck did he get in. "I am here to use your little racing game to study the physics of speed, comparing a living organism to the brilliant and more useful creation of the automobile. I am a physicist and I require the use of measuring speed, distance and resistance of a race horse fighting against gravity to achieve the win in a pointless and mindless horse race that is used mostly for humans to satisfy their own personal needs of gambling, prostitution, pride, power, drug use and money extortion." Kirsten raised her eyebrow. "EXCUSE ME?" Dr Cooper looked at her and frowned "Did you not hear me? I am a Physicist and I require..." Kirsten moaned and waved her hand. "Yes I heard you." Dr Cooper looked at her with confusion, "then why must you make me repeat myself. Gosh woman you are a bother. Now, make that horse do that again while I pull out my notes." He bent down and retrieved some things from his briefcase. Kirsten stared at him with her mouth hanging open. Who does this guy think he is?
Melanie turned The Unicorn towards the gap and raised her eyebrow curiously at the skinny nerd near the rail. Who was that guy? She saw her sister's face was red with fury. She was yelling and waving her arms at the guy. Curiosity bit at her but she still had to finish walking Uni out before she could approach the situation. She smirked. Her sister did NOT look impressed.
