It was a beautiful morning. Kirsten rubbed her hands together with anticipation. In two days her two 2 year old colts would be racing in some very important races against some major competition. She had decided to bring in the big guns. Yesterday at the farm she was passing by the stallion paddocks when Sand Storm came to join her at the fence. He looked extremely bored. Obviously, since it wasn't breeding season at the moment and he really didn't have much to do. So she brought him to the track today in hopes of working her young colts with a seasoned stallion.
In comes the Legacy.
Just as Kirsten was about to turn and head to the stables to pick up her beautiful light chestnut beauty she spotted a tall handsome two year old coming her way. She had to just stop and admire the colt. His bay coat was clean and seemed to just shine in the low sun. His bloodlines were impeccable and it showed in his conformation. His head held high and his neck stretched to its limit he regarded the track with interest and excitement. He was ready to run.
Kirsten jogged over to Legacy and gave him a good pat. She nodded at Aaron and held up a finger. She'll be out in a second. Stormy was already ready in the barn. Ready to go and ready to teach.
Just blow me away.
Melanie frowned as she tried to get the lead shank on Jazz' halter. The stubborn black colt was shaking his head and turning away from her. Finally Melanie stopped and sighed. This colt was a terror. Jazz stopped and eyed his rider. Then he dropped his nose and nudged her. She rolled her eyes. As soon as she gives up than of course the game is finished, now Jazz wanted to run. She rolled her eyes and quickly clipped the lead shank on his halter and lead him out of his stall. "Let's go big brat." Jazz whinnied and stomped his hoof. Yeah, like that is going to convince me otherwise...
The young black horror plowed his way towards the track, nearly dragged Melanie with him. He was so bull headed! When he wants something he wants it. Melanie shaded her eyes and looked on to the turf track and found Aaron and Legacy already warming up. Hoofprints to her left indicated that Kirsten was right next to her with Sand Storm.
The usually quiet and calm stallion was prancing around in excitement. He remembered the GHF track and he knew what happened when he was here. "Sorry to disappoint you big guy but your racing days are long over. This is just for fun." The chestnut barely listened to her and stretched his neck out towards the track.
Let's get the show on the road.
The two horses and riders mounted their steeds and worked their way on to the track. After warming up all their mounts they lined up side by side on the inner track. Galloping down the rail in a row. Two juveniles and one seasoned old veteran champion, it was quite the sight to see.
They gradually increased their pace until they were at a racing gallop. Still all keeping in line with each other. It was then that the juveniles were asked for more. It was time to see what type of talent they had to give.
